Some of us still remember the days when we walked the streets with printed plastic bags and everyone turned around. Back then, this was a remarkable thing. Today, however, things are a bit different.
In the old days, plastic bags were just IN. After a while, they became so common that they are now rather annoying. It is mainly environmentalists who complain about these types of bags. But it is understandable, since the oceans are filled with these bags and aquatic animals are suffering. However, this is not the fault of plastic bags, but of mankind. There used to be supermarkets that gave away plastic bags for free. But those days are long gone. By law, plastic bags must be paid for.
But when you think about it, it makes sense. But not everyone is willing to pay an extra penny. But everyone would accept the bags for free, even if they have to dump them outside the store, which is not always the case.
If there is a law, you can usually find a way to make it work. If a store owner provides you with a paper bag, you can get it for free. It is environmentally friendly.
In the near future, only paper bags will be available in stores instead of plastic bags, and the plundering of forests will likely begin. In the marine world, this possibility is already approaching.
[But consumers may see things a little differently. Supermarket chains being a little greedy is good for the environment. Few give away paper bags for free. Paper bags are treated differently because there is a charge for them.
If you are one of the old-timers, you probably remember the bags called net bags. It was the kind of bag from a Cinderella story. You could fit even the smallest peanuts in it anywhere. It was always a great success. Besides, it could handle all kinds of shopping, even Sunday shopping, and it certainly wasn\’t small before. But not now.
