Going to Prom

Are you looking forward to prom too? Whether such an event takes place in the country or in a big city, we always want to represent well. The ladies have a lot of advice at their disposal. What dresses, shoes, what handbags look good, what accessories, perfumes, jewelry, and new trends in hairstyles. However, gentlemen are sometimes forgotten to give the right advice. And yet, they are naturally expected to be good guides throughout the event. They would only be proper dancers and gentlemen. No wonder some gentlemen are often a little apprehensive about this before a ball. Can I do it? Of course you can. Let\’s review a few basics.

Clothing and shoes
What to wear? A dark, classic suit is best. This will definitely not detract from anything. Complement it with a light-colored shirt and a “matching” tie or bow tie. But be careful if the invitation says black tie! A tuxedo must be worn. It is inappropriate and vulgar to come dressed otherwise. Always choose a white shirt and bow tie for the tuxedo. And patent leather shoes. Always think about what you will wear when you travel. It is totally inappropriate to wear a sports jacket for formal wear! When the suit peeks out, it really doesn\’t look good. A long dark coat is appropriate for this occasion. Shoes should not only match the attire, but should have thin leather soles. Rubber-soled sports shoes or walking shoes are not appropriate for prom. Not only do they not match formal attire, but they are difficult to dance in. Of course, shoes must be perfectly clean.

Prom is not an event where you have to be on time, but you should be on time for the pre-dance. This is how prom usually begins. And they are a good topic of conversation during the ball. We gracefully approach the tables, greet those we know, and introduce ourselves to those we don\’t yet know. Of course, we dedicate ourselves to the person we are accompanying! We help her to her table and act gallantly with her throughout the evening. We never leave her “forgotten.”

Dance
.
Ask the First Lady to dance! This habit will not be broken. Of course, we may dance with others, but we pay special attention to the ladies at our table. If they have an escort (partner or parents), always ask their permission first. If someone asks our partner to dance with us, it is polite to dance with their partner as well. If we don\’t know any of the dancers, we always introduce ourselves. The men introduce themselves first! After the dance, escort the woman to her seat and thank her and her companion.

If you are seated, you may unbutton your jacket. We do, however, button up before asking for a dance. Talk while dancing. Act relaxed and elegant. Beware of alcohol. Know your limits and do not exceed them. Don\’t be so relaxed that you end up in a completely different and embarrassing role, not that of a gentleman.
